Since 1993, Homer Alaska has been my home.   Before designing and building our own house with studio here, we raised our two children in a 20 foot diameter yurt on the property.  It is a ski to and from the road during long winters and we hauled our water for both home and garden from a nearby spring.  Now we heat our home/studio and kiln with wood, but enjoy the luxury of hot running water.

My art education began with a BFA, focus in ceramic sculpture, from Alfred in 1986 (New York State College of Ceramics, USA) and in 1984, a certificate in craft from New Brunswick Craft School, Canada.  While living in Japan, I obtained a two year cultural visa (1991-1993) for the study of calligraphy and Butoh (contemporary dance/performance art) with Yoko Ashikawa and Hakutobo.  Here in Alaska, I have taught ceramics at local branches of University of Alaska as adjunct faculty.  Currently I maintain my full time studio practice.

My work has been shown in juried and invitational exhibits here in Alaska at the Anchorage Museum, Bunnell Street Arts Center, The Shop: Kachemak Bay Art Space, International Gallery of Contemporary Art, Georgia Blue Gallery and on the west and east coasts of the lower 48.
