Teapot fired on its side, natural ash glaze pooled into glass bead

Woodfired stoneware teapot built with wheel thrown and slab parts was fired on its side, allowing the melting ash to pool into a glass bead, seen as the dark spot on the lower surface. This pot was also partially buried in wood embers, as it had wood stoked directly onto it during the firing.
