Solo Exhibit in Anchorage

November 1-30, Shrouded Comfort, an exhibit of my drawings and sculpture, is at Leah J. Peterson Gallery at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage!

A friend asked how I arrived at the exhibit title, Shrouded Comfort. This summer, extreme drought, heat, wildfires and record high ocean and river water temperatures all alarmed me. While each sunny day was greeted by a productive vegetable garden and an insanely beautiful bloom of fireweed around Homer, it was disconcerting knowing this was because our well held up for me to water my garden, and that fireweed love dry heat. The title and some work for the exhibit came through me processing intense emotions of conflict between beauty and destruction.
